The public auction house Louiza Auktion was created in 2009 by Claire and Jacqueline Rothärmel and operated for 10 years at Place Stéphanie in the Avenue Louise district. The main premises of the sales company have moved to Avenue Molière, 82-1190 in Brussels since June 2020.

Claire Rothärmel graduated in Art History at the Sorbonne Paris IV, as well as in Private and Commercial Law at Paris-Assas II. After a DEA in Intellectual, Artistic and Industrial Property Law at Paris-Assas II and a period at the Ecole du Louvre, she obtained her diploma as a voluntary auctioneer in Paris, at the Hôtel Drouot. With her experience in Paris and the Paris region, she decided to set up her business and practice in Brussels, a city ideally located at the crossroads of Germany, France and the Benelux.

Louiza Auktion organizes 8 to 10 main sales per year of Paintings & Sculptures from the 19th and 20th centuries, and mainly sales of Contemporary Paintings, Sculptures and Drawings, Street Art, Multiples, Lithographs, Design and photographs from the 20th and 21st centuries.
