Bronze with a brown patina depicting a horseman with a shield bearing Gala's face, on a green marble base. Signed "Dali." Numbered "639/650" and "639/1000" (world numbering). Bears the publisher's stamp. Foundry mark "Fon. Pesarrodona, Barcelona" below the shield. Marked "27 205 08" below the shield. Dimensions with base: 27 x 25.5 x 15 cm. Dimensions of the bronze: 20 x 22 x 15.5 cm. Bibliography: Robert and Nicolas Descharnes, "Dali, Le Dur et le Mou, sculptures et objets," Editions Eccart, 2004. Reproduced and listed on page 188 under no. 462 (another example). A monumental version is installed on the seafront promenade, Passer de Mar in Marbella, and another at the Real Circulo Artistico in Barcelona.
